Hair Care For Your Crowning Glory ~ Tips for Dry Hair

Do you know what your hair is made of? Hair is made up of keratin the same protein that appears in our nails, skin and teeth. Unlike your skin, hair can not mend itself so caring for it is very important to keep your hair your crowning glory. Well groomed hair is more than just your trips to your hairstylist. Your hair like the rest of you needs protein-packed food to maintain in good condition. You may not realize it but your hair does reflect you health and well being. Which why when we have, “bad hair days” usually the rest of us is feeling bad as well.

A healthy person more often than not has a thick head of head, glossy and appears well groomed.

For healthy hair growth one needs to eat a protein diet, and your hair can get some of its protein it needs from the type of shampoo and conditioner you use.

The ancient idea of brushing one hair 100 stokes each night to make it grow faster is really nothing more than a myth. But the myth does have some merit, regular brushing using a natural spine brush does motivate the scalp, it brings more blood to the hair follicles and it does encourage new hair growth.

What is dry hair?

With regular trims and proper hair care your dry hair doesn’t have look dry. Take good care of your hair, it’s the first thing people see when they meet and they will keep in mind if you are looking like you just had a bad hair day.

It can be as well as feeling dry, its looks dull, can sometimes be tightly curled it might tangle easily and or break off. Because dry hair simply does not contain enough moisture, which could be due to lack of sebum as well as your age, over-use of curling irons, flat irons, hair dryers and coloring can all lead to dry hair. Did you know that blonds tend to have dry hair because of its lack of color?

Dry hair comes from moisture escaping too quickly. Dry hair is also a problem that all hair has from time to time. With proper hair care your dry hair can become your crowning glory once again.

Here are a few treatment ideas for caring for your dry hair.

Your hair should be given a warm treatment once a week if possible. Try this, at bedtime massage warm olive oil into your hair and scalp. Warp a warm towel around your head or shower cap and leave it in all night. Wash your hair in the morning with a acid-based shampoo.

Another treatment is to warm a tablespoon of wheat germ oil with a tablespoon of either olive, coconut or any vegetable oil and massage into your scalp. Wrap a warm towel around your head and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash your hair with an acid-based shampoo.

5 Tips For Great Hair

Your hair is your highest glory. Take care of it and it will shine for the entire world to see. You don’t for all time need luxurious treatments, or visits to a hair salon to manage your hair professionally. There’s so much you can do yourself.

1. Remove tricot loses or split ends, like this: take small sections of your hair and cautiously twist them in a gentle descending motion. The split ends will stick out. Using sharp scissors, cautiously cut into the twisted section, but not right through, to remove the damaged cuticles and leave a natural layered look. Cut roughly the same amount from each twist to balance the effect.

2. Hair loss can be slowed, or even reversed by applying a few simple tips, though they probably won’t cure an underlying condition. Biotin can help to regenerate hair follicles: blend bananas with honey, yogurt and low-fat milk, and drink it daily. Supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc and saw palmetto will help too, but eliminating stress and getting abundance of sleep may work just as well.

3. Prevent unnecessary hair damage by using the right kind of hair brush. Only comb wet hair with a wide-tooth comb, combing from end to root, but avoiding touching the root. Detangling wet hair by means of a hard steel comb can create a lot of damage, so don’t!

4. Dry your hair after washing in the ambient temperature of your room after using a porous towel to soak up the surplus moisture, but don’t rub hard. If possible, don’t use blow-drying, flat irons, curling irons or hot rollers. Artificial heating will leave your hair brittle and damaged in time. Be natural whenever you can.

5. For shiny, healthy hair think first of your body’s intake. Your hair is really just a reflection of what you are inside. A good impartial, nutritious and healthy diet will do more to make your hair shine than any shampoo or conditioner. And drink eight to ten glasses of water a day too; hair is 25% water, so don’t let yours go thirsty!

We are all obsessed with our hair, whether we are 9 or 90, male or female. Care for yourself first and foremost and your hair will reflect that care and attention. The Biblical Samson’s strength lay in his fine flowing hair. Your hair reflects your strength too.
